The "Cartier" publishing house together with the Information and Documentation Centre on NATO launched on Tuesday the book "The world in 2020. A draft of the global future presented by the National Information Council of the USA", whose afterword was written by Dan Dungaciu in which he presents the USA, EU, Russia and Moldova's role. the translation was made by Camelia Boca.  On 22 February, at the Information and Documentation Centre on NATO from Moldova, took place a Scientific Conference “NATO’s role in decreasing the economic risks”. The main purpose of the event was to discuss the Security Economical Dimension and to evaluate the role of the North-Atlantic Alliance in decreasing the instability and economic risks. During the conference, academic reseaches and NGO representatives presented reports and analyses on decreasing the instability in the region and on providing political and economic liberties by deepening the collaboration with the North-Atlantic Alliance. - January 17, 2008// Round-table: "The Partnership Republic of Moldova-NATO: Security consolidation through the IPAP implementation"
On January 17 2008, at the NATO Centre, took place the round-table “The Partnership Republic of Moldova – NATO: security consolidation through the IPAP implementation”, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova and the Information and Documentation on NATO from Moldova, and with the NATO Public Diplomacy Division assistance. The special guest of the event was Robert Simmons, the NATO’s Secretary General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, as well as a number of local guests: Eugenia Kistruga, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration; Igor Klipii, Committee for National Security, Defense and Public Order; Vitalia Pavlicenco, Committee for Foreign Policy and European Integration, and others. The purpose of the roundtable was to initiate a constructive dialogue regarding the importance of the Individual Partnership Action Plan Moldova - NATO (IPAP) for the national security consolidation of the Republic of Moldova.
On December 20, 2007 took place the inauguration of the NATO Information Point within the University of Cahul, with the support of the Centre for Information and Documentation on NATO from the Republic of Moldova. The purpose of the Information Point is to inform students, teachers, the representatives of the local public administration and the civil society about the objectives, the role, the institutions and the activity of the North-Atlantic Alliance as well as the relationship between the Republic of Moldova and NATO. At the event participated Mr. Gheorghe Vasilachi, the Chairmen of the Cahul District; Mr. Gheorghe Zagorodnii, the Mayor of Cahul City; Mr. Sergiu Cornea, the Deputy-Chancellor of the State University of Cahul; Mr. Radu Gorincioi, the Director of the Information and Documentation Centre on NATO from Moldova, and other officials as well as the representatives of the civil society and the academic staff. The event is included in the Partnership Action Plan Republic of Moldova NATO: public information regarding securiry and defense issues. (Chapter 3.1)
- November 30, 2007// Round-table: „New Dimensions of the Euro-Atlantic Security: useful practices for the Republic of Moldova”

Information and Documentation Centre on NATO from Moldova organized on November 30, 2007, a round-table on the topic: “Republic of Moldova and the new Euro-Atlantic security dimensions”. At the round-table Mr. Filip Teodorescu, the Roamanian Ambassador in the Republic of Moldova; Mr. Frantisek Gal, First Secretary of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in the Republic of Moldova; Mr. Dan Dungagiu, leading researcher, the Institute of the Political Science and International Relations, Academy of Romania. presented speeches. During the debates, participants emphasized an increasing interest regarding the recent NATO activities and also pointed out some of the possible activities which CID on NATO plan to carry out in the Republic of Moldova. At the end, was decided to settle the “NATO’s Friends Club”.


On October 3, 2007 took place the official inauguration of the Information and Documentation Centre on NATO from Moldova. At the event, as special guest participated Mrs. Stefanie Babst, NATO’s Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy; Mr. Vitalie Vrabie, Minister of Defense of the Republic of Moldova and other officials, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in the Republic of Moldova, the academic staff, media and and civil society. The inauguration of the NATO Centre at the State University from Moldova took place as result of implementation of the implementation of the Individual Partnership Action Plan Republic of Moldova – NATO. Opening of the Centre was done in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Public Diplomacy Division , NATO Contact Point Embassy from the Republic of Moldova and IDC on NATO. The main goal of the Information and Documentation Centre on NATO is to promote the euro- atlantic values in Moldova through informative activities, trainings and advocacy campaigns.
October 2, 2007// The International Conference: “NATO – an Alliance of Values and Solidarity”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova and the Information and Documentation Centre on NATO organized the International Conference “NATO – an Alliance of Values and Solidarity” on October 2, 2007, in the conference hall of the Republic’s Palace. At the event participated Stefanie Babst, NATO’s Deputy Assistant Secretary General; Eugenia Kistruga, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration; Ion Coropcean, Commandant of the National Army, Chief of Staff, other officials and experts from Romania, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, as well as representatives of the civil society and academic staff. The Conference was structured in to two sessions: Session I: NATO – New Assignments in Ensuring the Euro-Atlantic Security, Session II: NATO – A New Strategic Map of Europe. This event represented a good opportunity for debating security problems approach and for establishing partnership relations with the Euro-Atlantic area. The event was attended by 75 persons.
  On September 18, 2007, was organized a round-table by the Information and Documentation Centre on NATO, the European Institute for Political Science from Moldova and the Centre for European Security Studies (CSES), Holand. The topics of discussions were: -The role of the civil society in the reformation of the security sector; -Aspects of collaboration between nongovernmental organizations, academic, civil society and governmental institutions in the management of the security sector. This meeting is part of the IDC on NATO activities, unfolded within the project “The transformation of the security and defense sector – the promotion of good practices in the Republic of Moldova”, having as the main purpose to facilitate the assumption of the European countries good practices in the transformation of the security and defense sector, by the Republic of Moldova. Through debating these issues, NATO Centre wishes to contribute to the spread of information on this field and to promote civil society initiatives in the security and defense sector in the Republic of Moldova.

Thursday, August 23, 2007, at the Information and Documentation Centre on NATO from Moldova (Centre NATO), was organized a round-table which is part of the CID NATO’s chain of activities of the project “The transformation of the security and defense sector – the promotion of good practices in the Republic of Moldova”. The special guest of the event was Mr. Romualdas Rajuks, NATO’s ex-responsible for South Caucasian region, at the moment, the Adviser of the Minister of Defense of Lithuania. The Information and Documentation Centre on NATO from Moldova organized this round-table in order to facilitate the Republic’s of Moldova efforts in taking over the experience of the Republic of Lithuania and the Caucasian countries in reforming the security and defense sector. During the meeting were discussed the following issues: - The relations between Lithuania and the North-Atlantic Alliance; - The Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP): a tool in reforming the security and defense sector; - The Caucasian Countries’ experience.
- July 10 , 2007// Donation of books and other publications by the NATO's Public Diplomacy Division
Recently, Information and Documentation Centre on NATO from Moldova received a donation of books and publications from the NATO's Public Diplomacy Division. The allotment includes the most recent editions of the specialized NATO publications and a set of materials with general information. The publications are going to be distributed for free at the request of the educational institutions and libraries all over the country. The publications are available in English, French, Romanian and Russian, being accessible to a broad range of readers.
- June 11, 2007 // The Essay, article, comment, TV/Radio reports competition on the topic: “The relations between Republic of Moldova and the North-Atlantic Alliance: past, present and future”
Due to the 58th Anniversary from the NATO establishment, the Information and Documentation Centre on NATO from Moldova organized a competition on essays, comments, articles and TV/radio reports on the topic: “The relations between Republic of Moldova and the Nord-Atlantic Alliance: past, present and future”. This way, mass-media and academic representatives were invited to get involved more actively in analyzing and debating the agenda of the relations between the Republic of Moldova and the North-Atlantic Alliance, the security issues and the alternatives for ensuring the Republic of Moldova's security. The competition was aimed to contribute to a wide spread of information regarding the new security desiderates of the North-Atlantic Alliance, countering terrorism, as well as acquainting the public opinion with the security issues of the Republic of Moldova in the framework of the new security environment.
