A group of students from the International Institute of Management „IMI-NOVA” came Tuesday, February 16th 2010 to visit Information and Documentation Centre on NATO in Moldova. Polina Panainte, Program Coordinator at IDC on NATO, introduced the work that the Centre does on daily basis. Students were interested in the role of the North Atlantic Alliance in regional and global security, but more so about the relations between NATO and the Republic of Moldova. Mihai Popsoi, Program Coordinator at IDC on NATO, delivered a general presentation about what NATO is and what it does, what are the principles and values that guide its actions.

Students were very active, being interested in the benefits as well as the cost of possible closer relations between Moldova and NATO. Young people were enthusiastic and displayed civic attitude in the discussions that followed the presentation, being conscious about their country’s future. Future managers assessed the possibility of increased foreign direct investment once national security and stability is assured. Visitors were offered a set of reading materials that further portray the role and place of NATO in the global security architecture and the way the Alliance responds to modern challenges.

A fost lansată Reţeaua Tinerilor Atlantişti

Summitul_tinerilor_atlantistiÎn timp ce liderii actuali ai lumii s-au intrunit în aprilie la cel mai mare summit NATO din istoria Alianţei, viitorii lideri din regiunea euroatlantică şi Afganistan s-au întîlnit la Bucureşti pentru a dezbate teme actuale ale mediului internaţional de securitate şi a lansa o inovatoare comunitate virtuală – Reţeaua Tinerilor Atlantişti. Summit-ul Tinerilor Atlantişti, desfăşurat la Bucureşti paralel cu summit-ul official NATO, a adunat mai mult de 120 studenţi şi tineri specialişti din statele membre şi partenere NATO, precum şi studenţi de top ai Universităţii din Kabul.
